Don't Look Back

Updated: Oct 17

I received this photo from a friend today, and at that very moment, I needed it. God has a way of sending us reminders that encourage us to keep moving forward.

“Don’t look back—you’re not going that way.”

What a powerful statement! Sometimes we look back because life seemed easier then. Our loved ones were still alive. We wish we had more time, or maybe we want a do-over. Other times, we look back out of fear—fear that things will never change or that change is taking too long.

But when we look back, we’re not walking in faith. In Genesis 19:26, Lot’s wife looked back and became a pillar of salt. Why? Because she couldn’t let go of her past.

Why look back when your future is in front of you? God wants us to look forward because there is so much ahead of us.

You may say, “But I’ve made too many mistakes.”God says, “A righteous man falls seven times but gets back up again.”

You may say, “I don’t have enough time.”God is the restorer of time—He can redeem what was lost.

You may say, “I miss my loved ones, and I’ll never see them again.”Actually, you will—when Christ returns.

The Word of God says the path of the righteous shines brighter and brighter each day. So if you’ve been looking back, it’s time to move forward. There’s nothing left in your past—everything God has for you is ahead.

🎥 Take a Moment for Extra Encouragement

Before we pray, here’s a short video I recorded that I believe will bless you. It’s a gentle reminder to keep trusting God as you move forward. Remember, what’s ahead of you is far greater than what’s behind you.

Pray with Me

"Lord, I confess that sometimes I look back—whether it’s out of fear, regret, or self-doubt. But today, I choose to trust You completely. You are my heavenly Father, and in You, I have everything I need to succeed and to please You. Lead the way today. I trust You with all my heart, and I thank You for the good plan You have for my life. Amen."

Proverbs 3:5–6"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths."

Proverbs 4:18 – “But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.”
